The World - Trial by Fire
Realms
Despite the name, the heroes have not seen much of this land.
The greenery and sunshine are misleading, however, as the frigid temperatures and biting winds are unbearable for even the toughest in the group. Taking a stroll in this place is no less than torturous.
It's here that the final heroes will awaken. For the most part, it will seem as though they've just escaped an incredibly long nightmare. Without any idea why they're in this place, it will be up to them to figure out how to leave...
... and how to recover the bits and pieces of their memories.
At first glance, this land seems nearly barren of fauna, if the eerie silence is any indication.
Yet, the longer the group stays here, the more they get the feeling they're watched. Glimpses of shadows intrude on their vision. Paranoia starts to set in. Is there something stalking them?
Or is the real danger closer to home than they realized?
A spiral of clouds looms above this land, just outside the Realm of Heroes.
Getting to this place requires going through the aforementioned hellscape...
Pathways & Gateways
It's a pretty standard volcano, in a lot of ways. The level of heat is unbearable for more, while waves of additional, sticky, disgusting bursts of humidity serve to amplify it, at random.
It is unwise to explore this place, and yet the compulsion will be impossible to ignore for many. Quite a few have died in their pursuit of knowledge.
It's awake.
There is a sense of foreboding around the Gate of Aeon, as if they're in cemetary, rather than the border between the Enchanted Falls and Twilight Forest. The grave-like scenery certainly doesn't help. Many will find themselves thinking about their own existences or that of people they have lost in the past if they stay too long. People will get the hint that this the right place to come to terms to many of their self-doubts or past regrets. In a healthier way than bottling it up for too long.
After they leave, they may have even found things about themselves to learn.
Proceeding forward through the gate gives them a wave of wariness, only a small feeling that they should be on guard in this area. It doesn't help that the person will find an empty, eerie, foggy meadow awaiting them. For anyone who's seen the games or film, they might get this jarring sense that the place is similar to Silent Hill...
Maybe there isn't a large, muscular, triangular-headed being awaiting the chance to strike. Maybe.
The center of Twilight Forest has a strange gate-like space. Stepping through that leads into a different kind of forest. One that's dripping with a red substance, and with a floor that has a particularly sticky texture. The squishy sounds of their footsteps are the only noises that can be heard, and the desire to get out, get out, get out, get out, get out get out get oUT is quite strong.
Why did they come in here?

This gate is positioned on the outskirts of the Realm of Darkness. There is no indication that it will take anyone anywhere, and yet they've found themselves suddenly pulled through.
A ballroom.
One that's very, um, damaged...? Just to put it mildly! Half of it is burned down, while the other half is filled with dancing couples- Ah, no, those aren't dancing couples, at all, are they? Upon close inspection, the hero will find that they look more like mannequins - ghostly mannequins, at that. Masks cover the space where I face might otherwise be, and the
On the backside of Tarragon's Peak, there's a glittering pathway that leads to an equally sparkly, shimmery desert. Beware the giant worms that are everywhere, as they can and will eat anyone - namely anyone that so much as steps a foot into the sand.
Flying will work if they're able to go high enough to avoid those giant worms, but the record "jump" is currently 50 feet.

Moving Locations
It may look massive on the outside, but on the inside? It's even bigger.
A kitchen exists on the top level, but no food has been stored inside. Whenever someone attempts to change that, it'll be as though anything edible just... rotted, completely, overnight. Thankfully food is a matter of choice, rather than necessity, for everyone.
The bathroom has a shower, but their best bet will be taking baths. Water has to be provided via spell or carried to the bathroom, by hand.
Fortunately, the beds are comfortable! Even if sleep is as necessary as food (AKA not very). A small library exists on the same level as the cabins, at least, for those wanting something else to do in their free time. Library not big enough? Well...
If someone searches the smaller library long enough, they will eventually find a hidden door. Going through this door will take them to the most magical space in this entire world: a library that (literally) never ends!
Fancy yourself a fantasy novel? It has every single one that's ever been made in the entirety of the multiverse. Every science text, every screenplay, every biography, every magazine.
And those unable to read will find just as much to entertain themselves! Audiobooks, books that read to the hero, and countless historical films can likewise be found.
The catch is that it will become harder and harder to leave, the longer they stay inside. But... don't they want to stay here forever...?
Event & Special Locations
It's warm, cozy, and peaceful.
Listening to the water as it quietly moves through the caverns might be enough to put anyone to sleep, if sleep was more of a requirement...
Curling up next to a friend feels like the most tempting thing they've ever experienced - even in the case of those who've visited the endless library!
That sleepy feeling grows heavier and heavier as they trek into the forest. Eventually, it will become impossible to ignore.
Yet the dreams are not dream-like. They are vivid, sharp, tangible.
Like old events past coming back to life.
And it seems like the only way through is to experience those events to their meaningful end.
A place of awe-inspiring beauty and wonder-filled secrets.
Those with hidden desires may find themselves suddenly stumbling upon a treasure - something they've wanted for any period of time, or maybe something they've been wishing to give to another. Whichever the case, there is one thing that must always be remembered:
Gratitude is everything here.
A sacred place, where there was once an intense battle.
Climbing here may be the temptation of some, but it should perhaps be remembered that this world is fueled by balance.
For everything that is given, there will be something lost.
A beautiful and serene japanese-style estate, with a soft breeze blowing gently through the air.
It is warm, comforting, and one could spend hours relaxing with a cup of tea (or other beverage of their choice). Be at peace here and feel safe.
For this is a respite for the heroes in an otherwise cruel, cold world.

Anyone who wishes to visit the hot spring can simply touch an ancient looking hand mirrors. They'll find it takes them to an Asian-inspired front entrance - now there is a handy hanging curtain for men and women just in front of them. Going through will lead them to a changing area that is already filled with robes and towels, also plenty of bath supplies. There will be an area to rinse off just beyond the changing room, allowing them to get rid of the layers of mud and dirt before stepping out into the springs. A bamboo wall separates two springs, but one side says "Shared" and the other "Private" - with the private side having a sign that can be flipped between Occupied and Empty.
Once they're done in the hot springs, they may find themselves wandering upstairs, where there are a few rooms to sit and relax in. Take a load off, enjoy the views. At least two of the upstairs rooms have very private baths overlooking a scenic view. Or find the kitchen to make a little snack.
Unlike in other locations, there is no sense of any feeling here except a very natural peace and relaxation.
